Dublin was named after the city of Dublin in Ireland and is well known for it’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, which is sponsored by the Dublin host Lions Club. Tourists from all around Alameda County and the Tri-Valley come and enjoy the festivities, great food, and great people.
Dublin has a farmers’ market weekly at the Emerald Glen Park from 4:00 to 8:00pm through mid-October. Every week has a theme. The “First Thursdays” is set for a wonderful concert in the park. Additionally, local vintners come out for tastings of their fine wines. “Community Night” are the second and fifth Thursdays and host Irish dancers and local jazz bands along with local groups, service agencies, and organizations. “Family Night” is the third Thursday and have clowns, face painters and pet adoptions. “Healthy Dublin Night” is the fourth Thursday and host wellness programs and cooking demonstrations to put you on the road to better health.
In 2011, Dublin was named an All-American City by the National Civic League, after considering Dublin’s community projects.
