Pleasanton, CA

Pleasanton is a suburban city of Alameda County in the southern end of the 680 Corridor. This historic city of over 70,000 people prides itself on a vibrant downtown, strong community spirit and healthy retail shopping and business parks. In 2009, Forbes named Pleasanton one of “Americans’ Top Hometown Spots” in the US and in 2010 Pleasanton was named #63 in’s list of “The Best Places to Live”.

Pleasanton’s charming downtown is filled with restaurants, cafes, unique shopping and Concerts in the Park. There is a farmer’s market every Saturday on East Angela Street between Main and 1st Street, rain or shine, year-round! First Wednesday Street Parties are held from May through September where the entire downtown shuts down to vehicle traffic in the evenings. The public can stroll the downtown enjoying vendors, shopping, entertainment and family activities.

Pleasanton is also home to the Alameda County Fairgrounds and the Stoneridge Shopping Center, one of the region’s largest shopping malls. The Alameda County Fairgrounds hosts the annual county fair during the summer with live horse racing and entertainment. Other year-round events include the Scottish Highland Gathering, the Goodguys West Coast National Car Show, the Bay Area Golf Show and many other festivals and trade shows.

There is a wide range of outdoor activities in Pleasanton. Shadow Cliff Regional Recreation Area is a haven for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park is located west of Pleasanton and provides over 5,200 acres of trails for hikers, bikers and equestrians. South of Pleasanton is Del Valle Regional Park has a five-mile long lake ideal for swimming, boating and camping.
